Project Overview
Delicacy is a mobile meal-planning concept designed to help people decide what to eat, discover recipes, and maintain balanced nutrition without turning every meal into a planning task. The experience connects personal preferences, daily schedules, recipe details, and nutritional guidance in one calm flow.
The challenge
Healthy eating often breaks down before cooking begins. People must choose meals, check dietary fit, compare nutrition, and plan ahead while already short on time. The UX challenge was to reduce that decision fatigue without taking control away from the user.
My role
As UX Designer, I shaped the information architecture, core planning journeys, interaction patterns, and high-fidelity mobile experience. The design work focused on making nutrition useful at the moment of choice rather than presenting it as a separate analytics layer.
Design Process
The process centered on the decisions a person makes from setting preferences to confirming a meal plan. Each step was simplified so the interface could guide users while still leaving room to browse, compare, and change their mind.
1. Framing the journey
I organized the product around three recurring moments: choosing today’s meals, reviewing upcoming meals, and exploring recipes. This created a predictable structure that supports both quick daily decisions and longer-term planning.
2. Prioritizing the right information
Meal cards surface the dish, preparation time, calories, and key nutrition at a glance. Detailed screens reveal ingredients and macros only when needed, keeping the first decision fast and the deeper evaluation available.
3. Turning preference into guidance
Onboarding captures dietary goals and restrictions, then carries those choices into search and recommendations. The warm orange accent, food photography, and clear confirmation states make the experience feel encouraging rather than clinical.
The Solution
Delicacy turns meal planning into a connected loop: personalize, discover, schedule, and prepare. The interface gives users a clear next action while keeping nutritional context close to every recipe.
A focused daily dashboard
Today’s Meals brings the most relevant decisions to the home screen, while Upcoming Meals makes the weekly plan visible before it becomes a last-minute problem.
Recipe discovery with context
Search and category filters help users explore options, and recipe details combine ingredients, preparation time, calories, protein, carbohydrates, and fats in one readable view.
Flexible meal scheduling
Users can add a meal to a specific day and meal type, review their choice, and confirm it through a lightweight sequence with clear feedback.
Personalization that stays editable
Dietary preferences shape the experience without locking users into a rigid plan. Choices remain visible and adjustable, supporting variety as goals and routines change.
Outcome
The final concept presents a coherent end-to-end meal-planning experience, from preference setting to a confirmed weekly plan. The result is a product direction that feels practical, visual, and supportive rather than prescriptive.
What the design achieved
A consistent card system makes meals easy to scan, while progressive detail keeps nutrition understandable. Planning and discovery now reinforce each other instead of living as separate tasks.
Key learning
Personalization works best when it is progressive. Asking only for information that improves the next decision keeps onboarding lighter and makes recommendations feel explainable.
